Dopkins ABL Consulting Services offers an exciting opportunity as an ABL Field Examiner. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing on-site engagements consisting of field examinations of commercial lender’s prospective & existing borrowers in order to review loan collateral, identify any areas of potential exposure for the lender’s collateral, and to detect fraudulent activity.

  • Documenting the findings/results of engagements, highlighting areas of exposure, in written form through reports and in verbal form with customers and management.

  • Function in varying capacities such as working independently on engagements or with client staff.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.

  • Experience with AssetWriter, AssetReader and other data-mining software is desirable.

PNC Business Credit is currently seeking candidates with varied levels of ABL experience in Field Examiner positions throughout the U.S., including Pasadena, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

 

The essential job functions of a Field Examiner include:

  • Perform recurring field exams of borrowers' records to verify the accuracy of the reporting and assess the methods and procedures used for the submission of supporting collateral documentation.
  • Experienced examiner may be called upon to perform initial field exams of prospects' records and establishes initial reporting methods and procedures for the submission of supporting collateral documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between the Relationship Manager and the client in providing recommendations for implementation or improvement of collateral control or reporting procedures.
  • Prepare reports and supporting work papers for review and discussion based on ABL criteria that reflect current collateral/loan correlations to be utilized by appropriate relationship managers and credit committees to analyze basic credit situations.

Candidates need to possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Field Examination experience, public accounting experience and/or CPA certification
  • A strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), cost accounting systems, audit procedures, and financial statement analysis
  • Good written and oral communication skills, in addition to effective interpersonal skills to interface with exam team members, third party vendors, legal advisors, appraisers, and various internal partners such as Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers and Field Exam Managers (new and recurring business)
  • A large degree of flexibility and adaptability due to changing Field Exam schedule (up to 50% overnight travel to client locations, will vary by region)
  • Good personal computer skills (i.e., spreadsheet, database applications and word processing).
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • A valid driver license
